Hi Professors of Teaching Colleagues,

I am writing with a message from a colleague who is doing some research on
faculty and dean interpretations of student evaluations of teaching. Please
feel free to participate in the survey and/or help with distribution to
your faculty colleagues.

Thanks!
Annie

Dear Dr. Ditta,

I'm emailing you representing a group of faculty, staff, and deans who are
conducting research on the interpretation of student evaluations of
teaching by faculty and administrators. Our Dean, Dr. Steven Clark and
Associate Dean, Dr. Janet Colvin, plan to publish the results at the
upcoming Council of Colleges of Arts & Sciences annual meeting and we are
working to develop best practices for the display and interpretation of
student evaluations. We are hoping to recruit additional participants from
Deans and faculty from multiple universities. If you are interested, could
you please share this with faculty on your campus? We also have a link for
Deans to participate.

Faculty: You have been invited to participate in an online experiment about
how student ratings of instruction are interpreted. The study involves
reviewing fictional student evaluation data and answering questions based
on the information provided. It will require no more than 30 minutes of
your time. If you participate, you will be eligible to win one of several
Amazon gift cards worth $50. You must be 18 years or older and be fluent in
English to participate. Click here to participate in the study (
