We have also updated PPS with the following rate changes:


8.       Vacation Accrual (July 2012 earnings)

a.       All Funds - 1.73% (1.45%) - increase  of 19.31 percent

9.       UCRP Supplemental Assessment rate (August 2012 earnings)

a.       All Funds - 0.63% (0.68%) - decrease of 7.35 percent

The following employer-paid benefit rates will change effective with July 2012 earnings. Old rates are in parenthesis.
Percentage based benefits are calculated based on the monthly gross payroll.


1.       University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP)

a.       All Funds - 10.00% (7.00%) - increase of 42.86 percent


2.       Workers Compensation Insurance

a.       All Funds - 0.58% (0.56%) - increase  of 3.57 percent


3.       Unemployment Insurance

a.       General Funds - 0.45% (0.60%) - decrease of 25.00 percent

b.      Federal Funds - 0.60% (0.60%) - no change

c.       Other Funds - 0.45% (0.45%) - no change


4.       Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB) - formerly Annuitant Health Insurance

a.       All Funds - 3.72% (3.51%) - increase of 5.98 percent


5.       Communication Worker Fee (CWF)

a.       All Funds - $55.41 ($53.02) - increase of 4.51%

b.      Student Assistant I and II - $27.71 ($26.51) - increase of 4.53%


6.       General Liability and Employment Practices - assessed outside of the Payroll Expenditure Distribution process and charged to your general ledger.

a.       General Liability (Location 5) - 0.8263% (0.7900%) - increase of 4.59percent

b.      General Liability (Location N) - 0.2100% (0.0900%) - increase of 133.33percent

c.       Employment Practices (Location 5) - 0.1966% (0.1250%) - increase of 57.28 percent

d.      Employment Practices (Location N) - 0.0700% (0.0800%) - decrease of 12.5 percent



7.       Graduate Student Remission Programs (effective Fall 2012 Quarter)

a.       GS Health Insurance Program(GSHIP) with Admin fee/QTR - $619.00 ($588.00) - increase of 5.27 percent

b.      GS Fee Remission (GSFR) - Residents per QTR - $4,064.00 ($4,064.00) - no change

c.       GS Fee Remission (GSFR) - Non-Residents per QTR - $4,064.00 ($4,064.00) - no change

d.      GS Nonresident Suppl. Tuition (GSTR) $5034.00 ($5034.00) - no change
