Re:       Workers' Compensation Insurance for Out-of-Country Employees

Every year, the Office of the President requires each campus to provide a list of employees who reside and work outside of the United States.  These employees are not covered by the University's general Workers' Compensation insurance, which is only applicable to employees employed within the state.  In order to determine if any of your employees require this special foreign insurance coverage, the following criteria would apply:


  *   Permanent employment is outside of the United States
  *   Long term employment outside of the United States (longer than a three-month assignment)

If employees are working outside of the United States only on a temporary basis and out of the country for less than three months - they will be covered under the University's self-insured program.

If you have any employees who require this special foreign Workers' Compensation coverage, please provide the following information to Nini Furst in the Workers' Compensation Office via e-mail at nini.furst at ucr.edu<mailto:nini.furst at ucr.edu>, by Monday, August 1, 2011:



  *   Employee Name
  *   Hiring Department
  *   Address of Residence (outside the US)
  *   Work Address (outside the US)
  *   Payroll Title/Job Description (the job description can be faxed to X 2-2192)
  *   Description of Operation (choose one: Office, Classroom, Research Lab, Field Station, Dormitory)
  *   Date of Hire
  *   End Date (current or projected)
  *   Annual Salary (payroll for 07/1/2010 to 06/30/2011)
  *   Dept. FAU #
