[pps-news] SX Wage Implementation 10/01/08

Good afternoon all,

 

Below is a recap of our discussion in the PPS Users Group meeting
regarding the SX Wage Implementation along with the timeline:

 

The processing of the new rates and the retroactive payments for all SX
employees will be handled centrally by the Payroll Office.  The
departments will only be required to audit PPS for the new rates once
the EDB has been updated on the evening of April 13th.  

 

Additionally, we have received a number of calls concerning the funding
for this wage implementation.  The departments/organizational units will
be responsible for covering the salary increase from organizational
funds.

 

The implementation steps are as follows:

*	April 7th - 13th: PPS data is loaded into the Web Merit system.
All SX employees are extracted.  HR reviews data, finalizes ATB roster,
deletes any ineligibles.  A 3% ATB is applied to all eligible SX
employees.  (Freeze period for SX employees - No updates to PPS for SX
employees) 

 

*	April 13th -PPS is updated with new rates, effective 10/1/08. 

 

*	April 14th - April 17th - Departments audit new rates in PPS 

 

*	May 1st - Employees receive their regular paycheck, for the
month of April, paid at the new rate. 

 

*	May 7th - Employees will receive a payroll check for the
retroactive portion of the pay rate change.  This check will include
retroactive payment for hours worked in the months of October, November,
December, January, February, and March.
