[pps-news] PPS Password Expiration Extended

  March 14, 2005

  Dear PPS Users

  We have been informed by our UCOP programmers that
  PPS password will now expire in 180 days (6 months)
  instead of 30 days (1 month).  This change was
  necessary due to some pressure from users and
  recommendation by the security committee at
  UCOP.  It was determined that longer password change
  intervals encouraged better passwords.  

  Please continue to contact Greg Sanders in Computing
  at greg.sanders at ucr.edu if you need a PPS password
  reset.  If you have any question about this e-mail,
  please contact the Payroll office at x2-3307.
