Re:	Social Security Letter for International Students seeking Employment

Dear Colleagues,

Please find attached above the updated Social Security Letter/Form for our 
international students. I have revised the form slightly.  Please use this 
new form for students in F-1 status who need a social security number in 
order to work on-campus.   Per federal law, students are only eligible for 
a social security number if they have secured employment.  The letter must
be printed on University letterhead, signed by the appropriate individual,
and then forwarded (or brought) to our office for signature.  Students must
then take the letter to the local Social Security Administration to apply
for a social security number.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the letter above or 
any other concerns you may have regarding our international students 
on-campus.  We are happy to come to you and meet with you anytime if needed 
and would love your input.
