<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Call for Stone PhD Student Visitor Applications</b><u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Harvard Kennedy School’s Stone Program in Wealth Distribution, Inequality, and Social Policy seeks to forge connections between its affiliates and PhD students at other institutions. To promote this aim, the program invites applications
to its <a href="https://inequality.hks.harvard.edu/stone-phd-student-visitors" target="_blank">Stone PhD Student Visitor initiative</a>. Through this initiative, doctoral students in the social sciences at other universities will spend one to two days in residence at HKS.
They will meet with faculty and students, attend a seminar, and share a group meal. Recent seminar speakers include economists Susan Athey, Susan Dynarski, and Darrick Hamilton, political scientists Daniel Ho, Jamila Michener, and James Robinson, and sociologists
Cecilia Menjívar, Frederick Wherry, and Christopher Wildeman; further information is
<a href="https://inequality.hks.harvard.edu/seminar-archive" target="_blank">available here</a>. The purpose of this initiative is to promote intellectual exchange, identify possible research synergies and new collaborators, and generate conversations across disciplines and
institutions.<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Resources</b><u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Stone Program will provide accommodations and cover travel and meal expenses for visiting students. Students at institutions in the Boston area will not receive accommodations, students at institutions in Massachusetts but outside the
Boston area or in states bordering Massachusetts will receive accommodations for one night, and students at institutions in all other U.S. states will receive accommodations for two nights.<u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><u></u> <u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Eligibility</b><u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Non-Harvard PhD students in the social sciences (especially, but not limited to, economics, political science, and sociology) who study topics related to inequality, wealth distribution, and social policy are encouraged to apply. Applicants
must be currently enrolled at a PhD program at a university in the United States. Previous participants are not eligible, but we welcome applications from previous applicants who have not yet been selected to visit.<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>How to Apply</b><u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Applicants should <a href="https://harvard.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6rOie3HcL954ej4" target="_blank">
submit</a> (1) their CV, and (2) a 1-page description of their motivation for participating in this initiative. These documents must be combined into a single PDF document. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. All visits will take place on Mondays.
