Harvard Kennedy School’s Stone Program in Wealth Distribution, Inequality, and Social Policy seeks to forge connections between its affiliates and PhD students at other institutions. To promote this aim, the program is launching a
Stone PhD Student Visitor initiative. Through this initiative, doctoral students in the social sciences at other universities will spend one to two days in residence at HKS. They will
meet with faculty and students, attend a seminar, and share a group meal. Recent seminar speakers include economists Susan Athey, Raj Chetty, and Katy Milkman, political scientists Vincent Hutchings, Paul Pierson, and James Robinson, and sociologists Monica
Bell, David Grusky, and Cecilia Menjívar; further information is available at
https://inequality.hks.harvard.edu/seminar-archive. The purpose of this initiative is to promote intellectual exchange, identify possible research synergies and new collaborators, and generate conversations across disciplines and institutions.
