The fellowship is for a period of up to two years.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight:400">Under the direction of the CAPE organizers—</span><b>Jacob Hacker</b><span style="font-weight:400"> (Yale), </span><b>Alexander Hertel-Fernandez</b><span style="font-weight:400"> (Columbia), </span><b>Paul Pierson</b><span style="font-weight:400"> (Berkeley), and </span><b>Kathleen Thelen </b><span style="font-weight:400">(MIT)—the postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to work on their own research while also supporting the broader Consortium. Supported by the Hewlett Foundation, the Consortium on the American Political Economy is a multi-year effort to cultivate a research community around the study of markets and governments in the United States in comparative perspective. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight:400">The fellowship can be physically located at UC Berkeley, Columbia, MIT, or Yale; regardless of the physical location, the fellow will regularly engage remotely with the CAPE organizers and other scholars in the CAPE network. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight:400">The postdoctoral fellow will be eligible for CAPE funding to support their own research, including organizing workshops or conferences, and will have opportunities for presenting their work in CAPE network events. The postdoctoral fellow will also join a broader network of postdoctoral fellows working on political economy issues at other institutions.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight:400">Postdoctoral fellowship support for the project will include, but is not limited to, supporting an annual summer school, annual research conference, grants competition, website, and other programming and outreach. Fellows may also work on creating public resources for the American Political Economy community, including publicly-available datasets and reports. We envision that the fellow would spend approximately half of their time supporting the American Political Economy Project and the remaining time on their own research related to American Political Economy.</span></p>
