 would like to bring your attention to <b>a one-day convening we are planning for advanced graduate students (ABD, newly minted PhDs) and postdoctoral fellows as part of our<span> </span><span>emerging</span><span> </span><span>scholars</span>/future
 faculty program. </b>The event will occur on Saturday, June 7,<span> </span>2025 from 9am-3pm on the campus of Pomona College in Claremont.<span> </span></span><span style="color:#212121"></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:"Georgia",serif;color:#212121">Pomona College is the founding member of the Claremont Colleges which include the undergraduate institutions, Scripps College, Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Pitzer, and two
 graduate<span> </span>universities, Claremont Graduate University and KGI. The consortium is contiguous; students can take classes at any of the colleges, but each one is independent. Located in eastern Los Angeles County, the
 city of Claremont is accessible from the city of Los<span> </span>Angeles and Orange and San Bernardino Counties via Metrolink.</span><span style="color:#212121"></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:"Georgia",serif;color:#212121"><b>On Saturday, June 7^th, we will host a one-day event with the goal of introducing small liberal arts colleges to graduate students in southern California. </b>Our goal is
 to<span> </span>help prepare them for the next steps in their professional journeys, that may include applying to and accepting positions at small liberal arts colleges. We will organize panels, workshops, and discussions to
 help prepare<span> </span><span>emerging</span><span> </span><span>scholars</span><span> </span>for
 their next steps.<span> </span>These events will feature faculty members from departments who will be conducting searches in the near future. So this event is a great opportunity to connect and network.<span> </span></span><span style="color:#212121"></span></p>
