This is to ask for your help identifying candidates.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#222222"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#222222">These are the awards given out in Spring:</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#222222"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">The <b>Political Science Outstanding Student Award</b> will be given to a student who will be a Senior in AY 2024-25; who has a strong scholastic record, including a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher; and who has made outstanding contributions in community service and/or in department and campus organizations. A monetary award of $1,000 is given to the selected student.</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#222222"></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#201f1e"> </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#222222"></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#201f1e">Judge Ernest M. Lopez Memorial Grants</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#201f1e"> are awarded to students </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">who will be Seniors in AY 2024-25; who are disadvantaged by social or economic hardship; and who will be applying to law school. This award, in particular, doesn’t always attract as deep an eligible pool as we’d like. And it is instructors, faculty and TAs, who are in the best position to recognize students with strong scholastic records.
