> The Intercollegiate Department of Africana Studies at the Claremont Colleges invites applications for a ONE year visiting Assistant Professor who does research and teaches at the interface of Africana Studies and quantitative social science. Area is open but preference will be given to candidates whose area of scholarship concerns environmental justice, ecology, human institutions, sustainability, climate change, or adaptation and the like. The contractual institution is Pitzer College. We seek a scholar with an active research program of primarily quantitative behavioral research aimed at understanding individual and collective perceptions, decisions, and behaviors. We seek a colleague who will contribute to the department's mission of examining, through various academic disciplines, the knowledges, and experiences of people of African heritage worldwide. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts teaching
