[Poscgrad] Politics of the Global South reading group

Dear colleagues,

Diego Esparza and I are starting a Politics of the Global South reading
group and would like to invite faculty and graduate students in the
department to join us.

During the summer, our group will meet on Mondays from 12:00–1:00 p.m.,
beginning August 10. Our first discussion will focus on “African Coups and
the Limits of Electoralism

published in *Third World Quarterly*. We hope the group will provide a
space for informal discussion of recent scholarship (or works in progress)
examining politics in the Global South, broadly defined, and for
conversations that bridge our department’s diverse research interests and
approaches.
