[Poscgrad] Department reception: Thursday, Jan 15 from 5-6 PM

Dear colleagues,

As many of you know, the department is undergoing a Senate external review
of our undergraduate program this year.

The external review team is composed of Natasha Duncan (Purdue), Megan
Becker (USC), and Louis DeSipio (UCI).

*Very importantly*: the review team will be on campus this coming Thursday,
January 15, and Friday, January 16, for the full day. I have attached the
current version of the schedule. Many of you have appointments to meet with
the review team so please be sure to note the time and location.

*Also very important to everyone*: The department is hosting a reception
for the review team at the Barn Stable from *5-6 PM on Thursday, January 15*.
There will be lots of food (!). I very much want everyone that can to
please attend the reception and make the reception successful. Grad
students: I know that only some of you are officially meeting with the
review team but please try hard to attend the reception since each of you
plays a very integral part of our undergraduate program.

In general, everyone, *please try hard to be on campus and in your office
on these two days* so that the review team can see you even if it is just
hallway interactions. Most of the time the review team will be working in
the chair's office and it will help them to see people and activity in our
hallway.
