[Poscgrad] [Law & Society Search] Yüksel Sezgin's visit, Mon. April 27, 2026

Dear Political Science Faculty and PhD Students,

This is a friendly reminder that we will be holding the first job talk in
the Political Science Department’s Law and Society search. Professor Yüksel
Sezgin will present this *Monday, April 27 from 11:40 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. in
SSC 125.*

If you are unable to attend in person, the talk will also be streamed via
*Zoom* <https://ucr.zoom.us/j/99201751296> for your convenience. We will
also have it recorded and sent out after the talk for those of you unable
to attend. That said, we strongly encourage in-person attendance whenever
possible. We will be serving lunch during the talk, so bring your appetite.

Thank you to every one of you who signed up to meet with Professor Sezgin.
I was very impressed with how quickly the meeting times filled up.

Attached please find the job talk based on Professor Sezgin’s forthcoming
book, which will be published this summer by Cambridge University Press.
The attached paper closely reflects his presentation titled “Judging
through Narrative: Muslim Family Laws in Non-Muslim Courts”.
