*Call for applications: **Winter 2026 Teaching Assistant position in Labor
Studies*



The Labor Studies program at UCR seeks applications from interested
graduate students in CHASS for a Teaching Assistant position for the
following course to be offered in Winter Quarter 2026.



*LABR 002S: Labor Organizing: Theory & Practice: *Examines theory informing
and approaches to labor, community, movement and direct/collective action
organizing. Explores the ideas, concerns, conditions, values, aims,
strategies and tactics associated with organizing in those different
contexts. Considers cases of actual organizers and compares and contrasts
recent and historical examples of organizing.



*Teaching schedule:* This course will be taught in person at UCR. Lectures
will be held on Tues & Thurs at 3:30-4:50pm. Discussion sections will be
scheduled on Thursdays (exact times TBD).

department (to verify that you are a CHASS graduate student), (2) why you
are interested and qualified to serve as a teaching assistant for this
course, (3) the names and email addresses for at least two references who
are familiar with your education and training, teaching, and/or community
or labor organizing experience. Your qualifications for this position may
include relevant education and training, teaching experiences, and/or
current or prior experience in labor and/or community organizing.


*2.     A copy of your current CV.*


3.     If you have previous teaching experience, please provide copies of *your
most recent student evaluations as a Teaching Assistant (TA)*; other
teaching evaluations are optional. If you have no previous TA experience,
simply state that in your cover letter.
