After the UC data breach in 2020 there was a class action lawsuit that resulted in a $5.8 million settlement. I was affected by the data breach, and I know at least a few others in the department were as well. We received emails notifying us that our information had essentially been posted on the dark web.

The deadline to apply for compensation is tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to send out an email to the grad students but no worries either way!
