and founder of the *Art Herstory* project
Becky Teague - (host) Third year PhD student at the University of
California, Riverside & Early Career Researcher for the Society for the
Study of Early Modern Women and Gender (SSEMWG)
*Description:* This conversation brings together Dr. Julie Eckerle, editor
of the *Early Modern Women* Journal and Professor of English Literature at
the University of Minnesota, Morris, and Erika Gaffney, Senior Acquisitions
Editor of Amsterdam University Press and founder of the *Art Herstory* project.
Geared towards early career scholars and graduate students, we will attempt
to demystify the steps of scholarly publishing, exploring key differences
in process between producing shorter articles for a journal versus entire
book manuscripts for a university press; what to include in an initial
proposal to an editor; the time frame from proposal to print; how
peer-review works; what to do about image rights; and much more. The
speakers will also discuss their own career trajectories, demonstrating the
many different avenues open to students and young scholars of early modern
women and gender. Please come join us! All are welcome!
