Dear Colleague,

I write to let you know about an exciting position at Georgetown University
and to ask for your help with distributing the call for applications to
recent graduates of your doctoral program whom you think might be
interested, or to others who may know individuals who may be interested.

The Georgetown Americas Institute (americas.georgetown.edu), in tandem with
Georgetown's Center for Latin American Studies (clas.georgetown.edu), are
pleased to offer an* Assistant Research Professor (ARP) (non-tenure line)
position for the period from August 2025 to March 2026* in association with
their joint research project on *“Democratic Backsliding in Latin America”*.
The ARP will be welcomed into Georgetown University’s academic community
and encouraged to participate in the intellectual life of the university.

Applicants for the ARP position must have completed a Ph.D. in political
science or a closely related discipline by May 2025.   We will begin to
review applications on *June 24, 2025*. A subset of those who submit an
application will be invited to interview for the position in July 2025.
