[Poscgrad] Staff Announcement – Mark Tankersley’s Departure

Dear Professors, Staff and Graduate Students,

We have some help in our departments with the departure of Mark. Please welcome to our team at a temporary capacity, Alexandra Airhart.

Alexandra works within building management, and has experience with purchasing, reimbursements and events. Starting next week on Monday, she will be working in Marks office from 10-4pm. You can find her there Monday-Wednesday and Friday, she will also be helping us remotely in the future. We are not sure of if she will continue to be working with us in the physical space.

At this time, due to President Drakes announcement on the staff freeze, we are unable to know if we will be able to continue with the recruitment for Mark’s very critical position. But until we know more, Alexandra will help us temporarily at a part time capacity.

Subject: Staff Announcement – Mark Tankersley’s Departure

Dear Professors and Graduate Students,

I am writing to share that our Administrative Assistant for the Economics/Political Science Administrative Unit, Mark Tankersley, has accepted another position and will be leaving our department. His last day will be Friday, March 21, 2025.

Mark has been a dedicated and invaluable member of our team for the past 5.5 years, providing consistent support and assistance to faculty, students, and staff. His contributions have been greatly appreciated, and he will certainly be missed. Please join me in thanking Mark for all his hard work and wishing him the very best in his next endeavor.

Please rest assured, we are actively working on recruiting for his replacement, as this role is a critical one to the success of our departments. In the interim, we have been provided with some support from a CHASS Administrative Assistant. More details will follow soon regarding who will be stepping into this role and when they will begin assisting.

Thank you all for your patience during this transition, and once again, let’s give a huge thank you to Mark for his dedication and service.
