[Poscgrad] CAMPUS EVENT - Resistance: The Fight Against the New Trump Agenda on Immigration

Dear all,

I am circulating a flyer for a campus event that will take place on *Thursday,
February 13 between 3:30 and 5 pm in INTS 1113* and should be of interest
to many of you.

The event is entitled *"Resistance: The Fight Against the New Trump Agenda
on Immigration."* It is sponsored by the CHASS Dean's Office, with support
from Political Science and the School of Public Policy.

The event will start with a presentation by human rights lawyer Layla
Ravazi. Razavi has over 15 years of experience directing civil rights
policy and programs to educate groups on best practices for protecting
immigration rights. Former Executive Director for Freedom for Immigrants
and Policy Director for California Immigrant Policy Center, Razavi has also
worked with the American Friends Service Committee and the ACLU.

Layla Razavi’s presentation will be followed by a dialogue with Professors
Vorris Nunley (Black Study and English), Professor Kim Yi Dionne (Political
Science) and Professor Mark Long (Dean of the School of Public Policy)
moderated by Professor Setsu Shigematsu (Interim Chair of Media and
Cultural Studies) and Professor Kevin Esterling (Chair of Political
Science).
