I apologize for following up about this, but I did not word my information request properly. In addition to human remains, you also need to report to me if you have

"ethnographic or archaeological objects held by faculty, staff, or students in department/unit offices or laboratories that may be Native American."

Dear colleagues,

The University of California Native American Cultural Affiliation and Repatriation Interim Policy requires that all UC campuses conduct a systematic campus review to locate any previously unreported Native American Human Remains or Native American ethnographic or archaeological objects or collections (“Native American Objects”) (see Section V.E.2). https://www.ucop.edu/research-policy-analysis-coordination/policies-guidance/curation-and-repatriation/index.html

Under this policy, I am required to notify departmental faculty, staff, and students of our responsibility to report any previously unreported potentially NAGPRA/CalNAGPRA-eligible Human Remains or Native American Objects that:
1) Are under UC’s Control (including any remains or cultural items UC may have loaned to other institutions or individuals), or
2) Are on loan to the UC or any of our faculty, staff, and students.

If you are in possession of, or have loaned, any human remains, please write back to me so that I can complete the reporting. If you do not have human remains, please do not email me back. If you do have human remains, please write to me by the end of day on Monday, January 13.
