Hi everyone,


*On October 7, 2024 Jessica Zarkin (Claremont McKenna College) *will be
visiting UCR and giving a talk as part of our speaker series. See the flyer
attached. We strongly encourage everyone to attend the talk in person.
Professor Zarkin is an expert on politics of law and order, police
militarization, and urban security governance. You can access her CV here.

After the talk,* the speaker will have coffee with graduate students from
3:00-3:45 pm. Everyone is invited*. We will send the exact location soon.
For now, reserve the date on your schedule! This is a fantastic networking
opportunity, so we encourage everyone to attend this event and meet our
invited speaker for coffee, even if your research is in a different field
or topic.
