Dear Professor Brookes,
We hope this email finds you well. Following up on our message of two weeks
ago, we write to ask if you would please re-disseminate to students in your
doctoral program, and more generally through your networks, the *attached*
call for proposals for the *2025 Emerging Methodologists Workshop (EMW)*. *We
have extended the proposal deadline to October 28, 2024. *
The EMW aims to foster *a new generation of methodologists in the
qualitative and multi-method research community*. *Advanced* graduate
students, post-docs, and junior faculty based at US institutions, who are *from
under-represented groups*, and are *developing a paper* that focuses on
methods for generating and/or analyzing qualitative data, or for
multi-method research, are encouraged to submit a proposal to present their
work at the EMW. Empirical papers do not qualify for presentation at the
workshop. The EMW occurs annually in June at Syracuse University in tandem
with the Institute for Qualitative and Multi-Method Research (IQMR). This
year's EMW will take place on *Sunday, June 22, 2025*. The workshop is
supported by generous funding from the National Science Foundation.
The workshop c*overs round-trip airfare*, *two nights hotel stay* (arranged
by the EMW), and *meals and refreshments* during the workshop. In addition,
each presenter is *paired with a mentor* who helps them to develop their
methodological scholarship in advance of the workshop, and continues to
work with them after the workshop to
*prepare their research for submission to a peer-reviewed journal. *
You can find more information on the *EMW’s website*:

*Proposals* to present at EMW 2025 are due on *October 28, 2024*.
Please find *attached *to this email a document with more information about
the EMW and instructions for submitting a proposal. Broad outreach is a
vital part of our efforts to recruit a diverse pool of presenters. We
appreciate your assistance in circulating the call for proposals to any
individuals or groups who might be interested. Please email
emw.qmer at gmail.com with any questions.
Thank you in advance for your support of this initiative.
Best wishes,
Diana Kapiszewski and Hillel David Soifer
