Hello Everyone,


On *Monday, October 28th,* the department will be hosting Jennifer Pan from
Stanford University. Professor Pan specializes in political communication,
digital media, and authoritarian politics. Her website can be viewed HERE

The title of the co-authored paper being presented is "Decentralized
Propaganda in the Era of Digital Media: The Massive Presence of the Chinese
State on Douyin." For more information, view the attached flyer and paper.


Before the talk,* the speaker will have coffee with graduate students in
the Chair's Office from 11:00-11:40 am. Everyone is invited*. This is a
fantastic networking opportunity, so we encourage everyone to attend this
event and meet our invited speaker for coffee, even if your research is in
