Howdy everyone!

Dr. Brookes recently shared a new book, *Doing Good Qualitative Research
<https://global.oup.com/academic/product/doing-good-qualitative-research-9780197633144?lang=en&cc=us&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR35vIpIxAxqZto4C8viOq-zXnw7D_NuFSf5fQ3b0y7S-Ea76oyE-07dUcg_aem_AW_KxKAsiTpcHMjc2Vm8G59DfEU_8FQdpNwf_PUj3E9vc2o_FvMtwefjaV8YOdQrX7hGQwTAimtQAT-UrVNC78zi#>*,
by
Jennifer Cyr and Sara Wallace Goodman. Both will be visiting UCR this fall
for the Southwest Workshop on Mixed Methods Research
<https://swmixedmethods.com/> Conference.

The book is broken into five parts and walks the reader through (1) setting
up a research project, (2) preparing for the field, (3) collecting
qualitative data, (4) analyzing qualitative data, and (5) publishing.

I would like to suggest *starting a summer book club on this text!* If at
least four people are interested, we could even request physical copies
through the Center for Ideas and Society!

I know summer can be a very busy time for people (I know it will be for
me), but I know whoever's interested can share their thoughts openly. We
could meet anywhere between once a week and once a month. If you're
interested, just let me know at your earliest convenience!

Best Regards,
Donald Zarate
