Subject: send to Econ and PoliSci lists?

Hi Gary,

Could you send this announcement to both the Econ and the Poli Sci grad student lists? I would really appreciate that -- I think a number of students will be interested in this opportunity. Thanks!

Kevin

Dear All,

On July 1st 2023 the Institute for Replication<https://i4replication.org/> will organize the San Diego's Replication Game at UCSD,<https://www.google.com/maps/place/Deakin+Downtown/@-37.8206284,144.9500129,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x5a6142623152382d?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiC14fO3uj7AhWy4TgGHeYFC-4Q_BJ6BAhuEAg> political science department.

Participants will be matched with other researchers working in the same field. Each team will work on replicating a recently published study in a leading poli sci journal. All participants will be given co-authorship to a meta paper aggregating the replications results.

This is an hybrid event. In person participation is encouraged but it will also be possible to join virtually. The event will be at UCSD<https://www.google.com/maps/place/Deakin+Downtown/@-37.8206284,144.9500129,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x5a6142623152382d?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiC14fO3uj7AhWy4TgGHeYFC-4Q_BJ6BAhuEAg> which is very easy to travel to. Catering will be provided.

To participate please contact Abel Brodeur (abrodeur at uottawa.ca). Indicate your research interests and the statistical software you are comfortable working with. Also please note whether you want to participate remotely or in person.

The project is led by Abel Brodeur (University of Ottawa) and the local organizer is Scott Desposato. The organization committee includes Abel Brodeur (uOttawa), Anna Dreber (Stockholm School of Economics), Fernando Hoces (UC Berkeley) and Edward Miguel (UC Berkeley).

This event is part of games organized all over the world (Norway, Canada, Sweden, France, Germany, etc.) by the Institute for Replication<https://i4replication.org/>. A flyer for the event is attached. More details about the event can be found here<https://i4replication.org/description.html>.

Best wishes,

Abel Brodeur
