Call for Applications: Ruth B. Mandel Dissertation Research Awards

The Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University is
proud to announce the launch of the *Ruth B. Mandel Dissertation Research
Awards
<https://cawp.rutgers.edu/research/cawp-grants-and-awards/rbm-awards/call-for-applications>*
. These awards - established in honor of CAWP co-founder and director
(1971-1994) Ruth B. Mandel and thanks to the generosity of Ruth's family - will
support dissertation research on women, gender, and U.S. politics. Eligible
recipients include advanced doctoral students from any relevant discipline
at U.S.-based institutions who have successfully defended their
dissertation proposal. We encourage applications from scholars who are
traditionally underrepresented in the academy, and we welcome applications
for research that analyzes gender in addition to or in conjunction with
other categories such as race/ethnicity, class, immigration status, gender
identity, and sexual orientation.

Up to four Ruth B. Mandel Dissertation Research Awards will be awarded
annually, with the expectation that at least one award will be designated
for a Rutgers University student. The application deadline for 2023

I am writing to you as a CAWP Research Grant recipient in hopes that you
might help us to circulate a call for applications for the
newly-established Ruth B. Mandel Dissertation Research Awards (see language
and links below). Please share via your networks to any students at the
dissertation stage and with a project focused on women, gender, and U.S.
politics.

Just a heads up that projects already funded through the CAWP Research
Grants program are not eligible to receive a Ruth B. Mandel Award.
