[Poscgrad] PSA Best Paper Nominations (Fall)

Greeting,

If you instructed or TA'd last term, the purpose of this email is to ask
for your help in *picking the best essays *for this 2022 Fall term.

My name is Donald Zarate, a political science undergraduate at UCR and
president of UCR's Pi Sigma Alpha chapter, the only *National Honors
Society in Political Science*. As our mission is to promote scholarship in
the field, we aim to launch an event in the Spring centered around
recognizing outstanding research in the field. To this end, we will need
help selecting the best four essays for this term among all the current
POSC courses.

Here are the broad parameters that each nomination must meet, but we want
to make sure the selection incorporates your preferences as an instructor
or grader, so these items are broad enough to insure discretion in your
choices.

   - Presents original ideas
   - Draws on recognize literature
   - Includes citations and other scholarly sources
   - Contributes to one political science's subfields

*Here is what we need from you *(whichever applies to you)

   - If you are not instructing this term, please forward this email to
   anyone you think may find this information useful
   - If you are instructing or TAing for any *undergraduate *courses,
   nominate *one *paper
   - If you are instructing any *graduate *courses, nominate *one *paper

Please submit your nomination *no later than January 18th, 2023,* so our
board can review each nomination based on the *rubric attached below. *As
soon as all entries are evaluated, we will contact you to inform you of our
selection and we can discuss how to inform the student.
