Good afternoon all,

I hope this cold and gloomy weather isn't getting folks down too much (I am over-caffeinated because I keep drinking coffee to stay warm!). In hopes of brightening your day, I am attaching some flyers on upcoming events and opportunities for our graduate students - please share, post, and forward as appropriate.

The attached flyers include information about the following:

  *   TADP<https://tadp.ucr.edu/resources/workshops> and XCITE are co-sponsoring a workshop this Thursday on "Applying the UC DEI Rubric as a TA" (11:30am-12:50pm in the XCITE Commons, Rivera Library)

  *   Also on Thursday, March 2nd, the Graduate Writing Center<https://gwc.ucr.edu/programs/workshops> is hosting a workshop on how to write effective "Research Statements" (12-12:50pm on Zoom)

  *   On Monday, March 6th the writing center will offer another workshop on "Editing Your Own Writing<https://gwc.ucr.edu/programs/workshops>" - something we can all get better at doing (2-2:50pm on Zoom)

  *   The application to participate in the Chancellor's "Making Excellence Inclusive" Graduate Student Diversity Certificate<https://gsrc.ucr.edu/diversity-certificate> program will close next Friday, March 10th at noon. The program will meet online on Wednesday afternoons in the spring term.

  *   The application to participate in the California Community Colleges Internship Program<https://tadp.ucr.edu/uciccc-internship> will close at 11:59pm on Sunday, March 26th. This program provides funded pedagogical training over the summer and then pairs interns with a faculty mentor at a CA Community College - a great opportunity if you're interested in a community college faculty career path.
  *   GradSuccess is hiring<https://gsrc.ucr.edu/gradsuccess-team-application>! We are looking for folks to work with us in the 2023-24 academic year as Lead Consultants in the Graduate Writing Center and the Graduate Student Resource Center, and also as the Coordinator of the University Teaching Certificate Program. These positions are equivalent to a 50% TA or GSR, step dependent on experience. Info sessions will be held March 14th at 3:30 and April 5th at 12pm, and the application will close at 11:59pm on Sunday, April 9th.
