Dear Professor Brookes,
I’m writing to call your attention to* an open faculty position* in the
Department of Political Science at Baylor University with a fall 2024
semester start date. The job advertisement is below. The position is for a
full-time regular lecturer. At Baylor, these colleagues typically teach
four courses each semester, undergo annual review, and may be considered
for promotion to senior lecturer after six years of demonstrated teaching
effectiveness (currently, three of our colleagues are senior lecturers).
The pay and benefits are quite competitive. Lecturers are full participants
in the department’s academic life, have access to department conference
travel funding, and can apply for university teaching and course
development grants. The position may be of particular interest to your
graduate students who are seeking an appointment that combines a focus on
excellent undergraduate teaching with the resources of an R1 institution.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us as search committee co-chairs if
you have any questions.
Best wishes,
Patrick Flavin
