[Poscgrad] Greetings for the GSA team!

Hey All,

On behalf of the 2022-23 POSC GSA, we want to say welcome back for another
academic year. Your GSA leadership for this year is composed of Adam Hobbs
(President), Deren Onursal (Vice President), Rudra Guha Biswas (Secretary),
and Tommy Kegler (GSA Rep). We want to thank the outgoing GSA for their
work last year and for beginning many important conversations within the
department related to department culture.

As the year starts we want to outline some of our goals. Our primary focus
for the year is going to be on communication and on community. In this
regard, we are working towards creating a more cordial, cooperative, and
compassionate environment within the department. While we are still
finalizing all our deliverables for the quarter, we hope to host more
student events, create opportunities for pedagogical discussions, and
provide clarity as to how the GSA can assist students in the department. If

In the spirit of community, we have a couple introductory events planned
that we want to get on your schedule. On *Thursday, September 29th*, we
will be hosting a *Coffee Social* in the graduate lounge between 1:00pm and
2:00pm. Come for pastries, coffee, and tea! Additionally, on *October 8th *we
will be hosting a welcome party for students of the department. More
information and an RSVP for the welcome party will be coming soon.
