> The School of Public Administration at the University of Victoria is situated on traditional Coast Salish territory. I acknowledge and respect the lək̓ʷəŋən-speaking peoples as well as the Songhees, Esquimalt and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. As the process of colonization is ongoing, as are resistances to it, I intend to cultivate an approach to teaching and research that is in service to decolonization. As a School, we are committed to building respectful relationships with the various Nations and diverse peoples who live, learn and play here, and to better respecting our environments.

> We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow for A SHARED Future <http://asharedfuture.ca/> (Achieving Strength, Health, and Autonomy through Renewable Energy Development for the Future). A SHARED Future is fundamentally about reconciliation and respect between Indigenous and western knowledge systems. The research program supports several thematically linked projects across Canada studying various types of intersectoral partnerships, with an overall focus on Indigenous peoples’ leadership in renewable energy conservation, efficiency, and development. As A SHARED Future is entering its fifth year, we will be focusing our energies on sharing what we have learned; thus, we are broadly conceiving this postdoctoral opportunity as an end-of grant knowledge mobilization fellowship.
>
> The successful candidate will work under the co-supervision of Dr Heather Castleden, President’s Impact Chair in Transformative Governance for Planetary Health <https://www.uvic.ca/hsd/publicadmin/people/home/faculty/castleden-heather.php>, at the University of Victoria and Dr Diana Lewis, Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Environmental Health Impact Assessment <https://www.chairs-chaires.gc.ca/chairholders-titulaires/profile-eng.aspx?profileId=5357>, at the University of Guelph. Dr Castleden and Dr Lewis are the Co-Directors of A SHARED Future. The position will be held in the Health, Communities, and Environment Research Lab (HEC Lab <https://heclab.com/>), in the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples: the Esquimalt, the Songhees and the W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations at the University of Victoria (British Columbia, Canada). The HEC Lab focuses on producing justice-oriented research that contributes to pathways of social, environmental, and health equity. The HEC Lab is a dynamic space where highly qualified personnel are trained and mentored to produce cutting edge research.

> As a white settler scholar, having lived in multiple Indigenous territories and having received teaching from many generous and patient Indigenous Elders and Knowledge-Keepers, I am grateful to now live and work, albeit as an uninvited occupier, in the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples: the Esquimalt, the Songhees and the W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations. I acknowledge, respect, and have deep appreciation for their close and continuing relationship to the land and waters surrounding us and I am committed to a lifelong learning process of how to be a good guest here. That is, I commit to practices that address Indigenous-specific structural, systemic, and everyday violences of colonialism and racism. I also commit to supporting Indigenous rights, resurgence, and self-determination.
