Hi all,

We will have a PASS talk by Archana on *Monday, May 12*. Please join us
at noon (from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm) in the Nebula Room (PHYS 3027).

*Uncovering Hidden Black Holes in Dwarf Galaxies with Mid-Infrared
Variability*

Identifying active black holes in dwarf galaxies remains a major challenge,
as their small sizes and faint signals often evade traditional detection
methods. Mid-infrared variability has emerged as a promising tool for
uncovering these elusive black holes. We analyzed over a decade of data
from the ALLWISE and NEOWISE surveys, focusing on a sample of low-mass
galaxies for signs of variability. Follow-up optical and near-infrared
diagnostics provide compelling evidence about the nature of these systems.
Our results indicate that mid-infrared variability offers a powerful
pathway to revealing hidden black hole activity in low-mass galaxies.
