Dear Physics and Astronomy Community,
We recognize that the current political climate has been particularly
challenging, especially for groups who are underrepresented in academia and
physics. At POWUR, we want to affirm that we are here for you. Our
commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment remains
steadfast.
We understand that during these times, finding a place where you can feel
comfortable is more important than ever. We want to remind you that POWUR
is a safe space where you are always welcome to vent, de-stress, relax, and
connect with others who understand. Whether you need support, community, or
just a moment to breathe, we're here for you.
Our goal as an organization is to build a community that is welcoming and
supportive to all students. We continue to organize social events, group
outings, seminars, and community outreach, while working closely with
faculty mentors and allies to enact tangible change in our department.

Grants and Funding Opportunities: We are still researching the various
funding opportunities that still uphold the principles of DEI. One of such
is the UCOP Post-Doc Fellowship <https://ppfp.ucop.edu/info/>. We are still
working on adding more opportunities to this list.
Additionally, the UAW is organising a Nationwide March for Science
<https://standupforscience2025.org/our-policy-goals/> on *March 7th.* At
UCR, they are meeting at the* Bell Tower at 12 PM* to raise voice against
the political interference in science.
