to campus last September</span></a></span><span style="font-size:12pt;color:rgb(28,28,28)">, the UC Office of the President
has mandated the implementation of new cybersecurity measures systemwide by May
28, 2025. These measures are critical in protecting UCR’s vital assets – our
research, teaching, financial data, and personal information – against the
ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats.   </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:12pt 0in 0in;line-height:normal;background:rgb(249,249,249);vertical-align:baseline;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12pt;color:rgb(28,28,28)">UCR is committed to
meeting this mandate. </span><span style="font-size:12pt;color:rgb(28,28,28)">As part of UCR’s </span><span style="color:black"><a href="https://its.ucr.edu/cybersecurity-mandate-2025#future" style="color:blue" target="_blank"><span style="font-size:12pt;color:rgb(0,61,165)">security investment roadmap</span></a></span><span style="font-size:12pt;color:rgb(28,28,28)">, the Provost has called for all campus administrative units to
join Secured Device Services (SDS), a comprehensive device administration and
security service through ITS that ensures devices are kept up-to-date and
compliant with security requirements. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:12pt 0in 0in;line-height:normal;background:rgb(249,249,249);vertical-align:baseline;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><b><span style="font-size:12pt;color:rgb(28,28,28)">The DUE will be working with ITS to onboard all administrative
devices to SDS between Monday, May 12, 2025, and Wednesday, May 21, 2025. The
DUE has reserved the Co-Lab space on the 2^nd floor of the SSB for
the services to occur. All devices must be migrated during this timeframe.   </span></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:12pt 0in 0in;line-height:normal;background:rgb(249,249,249);vertical-align:baseline;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12pt;background:white">Migrations take 30-60 minutes for Windows
devices and 15-30 minutes for Macs. Pre-migration preparation includes data
backup and identifying special software needs. ITS will inventory devices
pre-migration, and post-migration, they will ensure you are able to login and
access all of your tools and software. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:12pt 0in 0in;line-height:normal;background:rgb(249,249,249);vertical-align:baseline;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12pt;background:white">Post migration, ITS will be available via
phone, website, online chat, and in person at various locations to provide
support for any questions or concerns.
