<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#212121">At our September 2023 retreat, there was significant emphasis on the importance of identifying and using data to inform our work across UE, something that many of us already did and continue to do to inform our
work. Then, in January 2024, I rolled out the attached data informed goal setting plan with the UE Senior Leadership and VPDUE Cabinet. Since January, I have heard from several areas that people are making progress.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#212121"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#212121">With this in mind, we would like to dedicate time at the September 2024 UE Retreat to highlight the work across the org. We will be using a lightning round format and <b><u>voluntary</u></b> presenters from
UE (UE staff) will speak for 5-7 minutes (+2 minutes max. to allow for questions, 10 minutes total). Think of this like a TED-talk style format. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#212121"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#212121">This is an opportunity for UE staff to share advances in their work. We are specifically looking for impact data in your respective areas. The data can focus on the impact of a particular program, an initiative, a
new practice, or some pilot results. The data can be preliminary and does not need to be perfect. Presenters can discuss how their findings connect to one or more of UE’s
<a href="https://strategicplan.ucr.edu/undergraduate-education">5 strategic goals</a>. <i>Again, presentations are completely voluntary</i>. There could be a scenario where more than one program in a particular area shares their work (i.e., XCITE shares about
RIDLE and another XCITE presenter shares about a technology innovation with faculty). Presenters are strongly encouraged to practice their presentations in advance and adhere to the time parameters. Below are some more specific guidelines to help people
assemble their presentations. TED Talk provides speaker guides, which we provide below and adapted for our purposes (thanks, Richard Edwards!):<o:p></o:p></span></p>
