The* DUE Monthly Spotlight Series* aims to highlight important advances
across the Division of Undergraduate Education. The goal is to ensure that
our fellow DUE members stay in the know as we collectively work toward
DUE’s strategic goals, including boosting graduation rates and reducing
equity gaps, among others.

UC Riverside's *Army ROTC *celebrated 30 years of student success on
Friday, May 2. Current cadets and alumni came together in honor of their
service and dedication to the Army. Thank you to Captain Alvarado and
Lieutenant Zhang for their continued guidance over the program.

ROTC Cadet Paris Chan featured in UCR Magazine Spring 2025

UC Riverside's Army ROTC cadet *Paris Chan *was recently featured as the
Student Spotlight for the Spring 2025 Magazine. She shares her future goals
of becoming a military doctor and volunteering during national disasters.

HPAC/PPAC Featured in CNAS May 2025 Newsletter

PPAC, with its health professions advising component, is one of only two
such centers that exist in the UC system. Furthermore, says Charlie, the
Center has everything covered.

“Students have a resource to come and talk about careers, how to prepare
for embarking on them, the job market...everything,” he says. “PPAC is very
niche in this field. This is what we do for all of our students interested
in health, and now law careers, no matter their major.

*UC Riverside Global Career Accelerator*

The innovative online global experiential program provides students of
diverse backgrounds with the incredible opportunity to acquire global
competencies and valuable work experience, all in an accessible and
flexible format. Participants will engage in collaborative projects
alongside peers hailing from 50+ countries, working on assignments from
prestigious companies such as Spotify, Netflix, Intel, and the Grammys.

By successfully completing the program this summer, students will earn 8
credits and can obtain up to 4 micro-credentials focusing on industry tools
and competencies. Students enroll through UCR Summer Sessions, use
financial aid if they qualify, and take the course from wherever they are
this summer—at home, on campus, or some other location—enabling students
with the ability to acquire meaningful experiential experiences while
engaging through a flexible learning format.  In today's dynamic global

cultures and time zones is indispensable—especially in the context of
remote and hybrid positions.

Vice Provost/Dean Louie F. Rodriguez served as the keynote speaker for the
2024 CA Forum for Diversity in Graduate Education at UC Riverside.

2025 Celebration of Teaching Award Recipients

The *Junior Excellence in Teaching (JET) Award* recognizes faculty teaching
at the Assistant Professor level who demonstrate a commitment and
determination of an outstanding teacher while pursuing an active research
program. The *Community Engaged Teaching Award* recognizes ladder-rank
Senate faculty who demonstrate a commitment to teaching with
mutually-beneficial, respectful, and sustained collaboration that creates
reciprocal value for students and community partners. The *Innovative
Teaching Award *is awarded to those faculty members who create and
implement high-impact teaching methods and demonstrate exceptional passion
in finding new and effective ways to help students learn.
