Available Instructional Adjustments

Dear Colleagues,

Given recent events in the Los Angeles area, we understand that members of
our campus community, including students, may have been negatively
impacted. As a result, you might receive requests for instructional
accommodations related to final examinations.

Though not required, as always, instructors have the authority to
accommodate such requests and may consider switching from an in-person
final examination to a take-home final examination. This is an acceptable
option so long as the take-home final examination meets the
requirements of UCR's
Senate Regulation SR 1.8.01
<https://senate.ucr.edu/regulations/division/full#01>.

We encourage faculty, departments, and deans to leverage flexibility and
creativity to continue to deliver instruction to meet the needs of students
and the goals of their courses.

Best regards,

Ken Barish, Chair
