The DUE Monthly Spotlight Series aims to highlight important advances across the Division of Undergraduate Education. The goal is to ensure that our fellow DUE members stay in the know as we collectively work toward DUE’s strategic goals, including boosting graduation rates and reducing equity gaps, among others.

HPAC 24-25 Ambassadors Complete Training
HPAC successfully completed training for our 2024-25 cohort of student ambassadors. This was a two-day training, which included a visit to Western University of Health Science where students got to learn and have hands-on practice in the different fields of study they offer. Some of the activities included wheel chair basketball with the physical therapy program, learning to make sunscreen in the pharmacy lab, shaping molars out of wax with the dentistry program, etc.

HPAC Ambassadors are ready to meet with 1st-year students and any other student seeking a career in health. Our ambassadors are knowledgeable in the coursework they need to complete, extra curricular activities, and the process of applying to graduate and professional schools.

ARC's 2024 Open House
The Academic Resource Center (ARC) kicked off the academic year with their open house event, “Follow the Path to Sweet Success." Over 200 faculty, staff, and students were welcomed with sweet treats and tours of the ARC.

ADT Hosts First Year Faculty Workshop
The Academy of Distinguished Teaching (ADT) hosted the first workshop of the Fall 2024 First Year Faculty workshop series! We had 31 attendees fill the XCITE Commons, ready to learn about how to effectively engage and serve our students.

First Generation College Student Success
The Speaker Series, which was held on Oct. 9, addressed what it takes for first generation college students to be successful throughout their Highlander undergraduate journey. By engaging in brainstorming on what first generation undergraduate students require in order to succeed, attendees were able to discuss what works and the ongoing challenges that they face in order to effectively serve students.

ADT Held First Annual Summer Retreat
The Academy of Distinguished Teaching (ADT) held its first annual Summer Retreat to plan events for the upcoming academic year! 11 members met at the Temecula Creek Inn for a day of work and a bit of social bonding afterwards. VPDUE Rodriguez was also able to join us for a bit!
