[Orgvpdue] Good news re: UE space

Dear UE Colleagues,

It is with great excitement to share that UE has secured the requested space in the SSB building!  We are scheduled to move before the end of the calendar year and most of the move will happen during the month of December.

I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to the vision we outlined in our plan. These individuals include the UE Senior Leadership, the VPDUE Cabinet, many people in the Dean's office in Hinderaker, and especially Richard Edwards and Sohail Wasif in XCITE who brought our vision to life on paper.

The new space provides ample student programming space and puts UE in close proximity to others on the SSB second floor including International Affairs, and many of the student-facing research programs (called CECOP) run by Student Affairs.

More to follow but we should be proud that UE will have access to sufficient space to relentlessly pursue our five strategic goals and work toward a model division for undergraduate education not only for UCR students, but for the UC system and the country.
