We are delighted to announce that UCR Academic Resource Center (ARC) Director, Dr. Rena Roberts, recently completed her doctoral dissertation in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University's Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.

Leveraging theories of student involvement and validation, Dr. Roberts investigated the impact that participating in a "Leadership for Social Change" seminar activity had on UCR student athletes' personal growth and development. Results of her mixed-methods study underscore the importance of college student athletes' participation in high impact practices.
