Dear Colleagues,
Following our previous communication
<https://bfs.ucr.edu/news/2025/09/15/request-feedback-pi-approvals-rssp>
regarding PI Approvals in RSSP, we are pleased to share that the Option 3
workaround provided by Oracle has received positive feedback from testers
in the Oracle Training environment. Based on this feedback, Business &
Financial Services will move forward with deploying Option 3 this week.
Option 3 Recap
With this update, users can add an ad hoc approver when creating a
requisition by selecting “Ad Hoc FYI Reviewer.” The requisition will first
route to the added approver before continuing through the standard
workflow. This feature is most commonly used to include a PI in the
approval process for requisitions under $10,000 that use extramural funds,
but is also available for non-project requisitions. While not required, the
Ad Hoc Approver option is now available to enhance your workflow.
Training Guide
The “Add an Ad Hoc Approver(s) (RSSP)” training guide will be
available in Training
Resources <https://bfs.ucr.edu/training-resources> immediately upon
deployment.
