On December 5, the Office of Research hosted a public viewing of a National
Institutes of Health (NIH) videocast that provided training on the NIH
electronic proposal submission process. For those who were not able to
attend this event, the NIH has made the videocast available for viewing from
their website at http://era.nih.gov/training/esub_120506/

NIH's transition to electronic proposal submission can be at

Beginning February 5, 2007, the NIH will no longer accept paper applications
for Research Project (R01) grants. In addition, on this date NIH will also
begin to accept more than one principal investigator per application. For
more information about these issues, please refer to the News section of the
Office of Research webpage at http://or.ucr.edu.

Please share this message broadly within your unit with those who are
involved in the preparation, routing and approval of NIH grant applications.
