Tiara Sari transferred to UCR from Chaffey College as an Education and Liberal Studies major in Fall 2021. We asked Tiara a few questions about her experience at UCR. Here are her responses:

What UCR activities have you participated in?

What words of wisdom would you like to share with your transfer peers?
"Always be better than the person you were yesterday."

Transfer Success Coordinator
College of Natural & Agricultural Science (CNAS)

Liz Jimenez transferred from Santa Ana Community College where she received an AA in Liberal Studies. She then transferred to UC Riverside where she received a B.A. in Chicano/a Studies. Liz went on to receive her M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Redlands. We asked Liz to share about her transfer student experience as well as a few words of encouragement to our UCR transfer community. Here are her responses:

Transfer Student Experience:
For the first two years I was lost at my Community College, I stayed 2 additional years before I successfully transitioned to UCR. Choosing UCR was one of the best decisions I ever made, I was able to feel connected prior to my transfer because of how often I met with the UCR Admissions rep that visited my institution. She knew how important it was that I was financially stable and able to find work with the UC I decided to transfer to so she was able to offer me a work-study job on campus upon my transfer as a Transfer Link Mentor in Undergraduate Admissions. That position along with the Transfer Resource Center at the time allowed me to feel connected as well as a strong sense of community within my first quarter.

Words of Wisdom:
Get involved, ask questions, and find your community early on. Take advantage of all the resources at UCR, they are here to help you succeed.
