Hello again, all!
The UCR Departments of Music and TFDP have the exciting opportunity to
attend a *free orchestra tech rehearsal of **Così fan tutte
<https://laopera.org/performances/2025/cosi-fan-tutte?utm_source=google&utm_medium=search&utm_campaign=cosifantutte&utm_source=google&utm_medium=grants&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAn9a9BhBtEiwAbKg6fr_8oWk7zq9AG6M4godHaaRTfY99WqXr2VqGhGiXwB-LFASuF7PIvRoCuckQAvD_BwE>**
(an
opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart) on Tuesday, March 4* at the LA Opera
<https://www.laopera.org/>. The event includes free roundtrip
transportation to and from the LA Opera and boxed dinners; the bus will
depart UCR at 4:00 p.m. and return to campus at approximately 11:00 p.m.
The event will begin at the LA Opera at 6:00 p.m.
If you would like to register for a free ticket (and bus transportation, if
desired), *please fill out an attached liability waiver** (either pdf or
Word Doc, your choice) and upload it to this Google Drive folder
<https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/135cdR6F_Y6UB0en9AkLtXQWM67H10RzC?usp=sharing>
(or
email it directly to me, if you prefer) by next Wednesday, February 26,
2025. *The first 40 students to submit their forms will be guaranteed
tickets, and I will maintain a waitlist after that time. Faculty and staff,
you are welcome to submit waivers and I will let you know if there's
availability as the rehearsal approaches.
An orchestra tech rehearsal is the last stage of creating an opera
production--music, lights, costumes, props, and set all come together for
the first time. Attending this rehearsal is a great opportunity if you’re
interested in any aspect of collaborative processes in the arts, theater,
arts administration, and the inner workings of one of LA’s largest arts
organizations--even if you don't particularly like opera (and it's more
than okay if you don't)! For those who were able to join one of the other
LA Opera rehearsals, know that this should be a similarly fun and engaging
experience.
If you have any questions, please email me at danak at ucr.edu.
Best,
Prof. Kauf.
