The following is a message from an undergraduate student organizing an
effort from this campus on a UC-wide Summit Conference

Greetings students and faculty,

Are you interested in research, rebuilding, and development efforts in
Haiti? On April 24th, there will be a UC-wide Summit Conference held at UCSF
Mission Bay Conference Center with the purpose of:

-Establishing a UC-wide long-term plan for UC's involvement in Haiti
across various disciplines/sectors; specific projects from each sector will
be discussed and proposed.

-Establish a structure by which these projects can be implemented and
student involvement can be maximized

-Coordinate with NGO's, Haitian government, and other universities.

-Discuss UC's appropriate niche in Haiti's rebuilding process and perhaps
export as a model for future efforts.

Faculty and students of all disciplines are encouraged to attend and
particularly those whose focus lies in:

1) Economic Development & Law

2) Education & Psychosocial

3) Engineering & Infrastructure

4) Food Production

5) Healthcare

The information session will be held:
