MHCP Peer Mentors are a group of dedicated and experienced volunteer
students planning a career in the health professions who volunteer their
time to assist other UCR students as they plan their future health care
careers.

MHCP is recruiting new Peer Mentors to begin Winter Quarter 2009.  We are
particularly looking for students planning careers in medicine, dentistry,
pharmacy, optometry, nursing, physical therapy, and veterinary medicine.

	UC Riverside Students Attend Pre-Health Conference at UCIUCR Student
Participants at UCI Pre-Health Conference 2008Several UCR students attended
UCI's 8th Annual Pre-Health Conference on Saturday, October 25. The
conference theme was "Achieving Unity through Diversity in Healthcare," and
was sponsored by UCI School of Medicine chapters of the Latino Medical
Student Association (LMSA) and the Student National Medical Association
(SNMA). The day was filled with workshops, speakers, admissions
representatives, and panels of experts to bring accurate and valuable
information about getting into a health professions school. Upcoming MHCP
sponsored trips to other pre med conference visits include Stanford Med
School in February and UCLA in March. More details to follow.
