Dear All,

With the start of the fall quarter quickly approaching, I would like to update you on current department return plans. With the ongoing pandemic and to ensure the continued efforts to ensure the safest environment for our community, faculty, students and staff, our daily operations will look very different than prior to the pandemic. The current situation is very fluid and we greatly appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we all transition back to some level of in-person instruction and on-campus operations in the safest way possible.

Below are some of the general requirements that are in place to be on campus at this time. More detailed information and additional logistics will be sent out in the coming weeks.

Masks Required On Campus- Effective July 29, 2021, mask wearing will be required indoors while on campus property, regardless of vaccination status. Unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear a mask at all times. Vaccinated individuals who have uploaded their record to the COVID-19 Vaccine Tracking Form may work without a mask while working outdoors or indoors alone in a closed office or room; however, masks are required in indoor communal spaces and meetings with others. Per Cal/OSHA
requirements, employees working in health care settings and in programs with children under 12 years of age must also continue to wear face coverings.

Daily Wellness Survey must be completed each day you will access university property. This is to be completed by students, faculty and staff that will be accessing university property and must be completed prior to your arrival on campus that day. The survey can be found at : https://wellnesscheck.ucr.edu/ . More details related to what to do if you are advised to stay away from campus are forthcoming. Students should be prepared to show clearance confirmations each day on campus on their phones or via printout should instructors require them to allow entry into a class. This requirement is at the discretions of the instructor.

Covid 19 Prevention Training- All students, faculty and staff are required to complete the Covid 19 Prevention Training in the UC Learning Management System at https://uc.sumtotal.host/core/dash/home?domain=14. The course should be an assigned course in your dashboard and must be completed prior to your arrival/return to campus.

Worksite Specific Plan- The worksite specific plan for the department administrative and general operations will be forwarded to all for your electronic signature. Faculty will be receiving additional information related to faculty research plans separately.

Administrative Staff Operations- our staff will work a hybrid schedule and will rotate 3 days on-campus and 2 days remote. In an effort to minimize contact and foot traffic in our administrative suite, the doors to the administrative offices will remain locked and we will utilize the service window for any requests. For emergencies, a staff member will be available 8am-5pm, M-F, we will continue to use email, Zoom and phone as the primary methods of contact. An in-person meeting requests will need to be done by appointment. Should an emergency arise before our window hours, staff can be contacted via email or via the main phone line at 951-827-3113 beginning 9/13.
Window Will Reopen- Monday, September 13th
               Service Window Hours- M-F, 9am-11:30am and 1pm-4pm
Staff Schedule and updates will be posted outside our office and will be sent out via email under separate cover.

Preparations and logistical considerations are already underway in order to prepare for fall. There a number of details and logistics specific to offices, keys, textbooks, communal spaces, classrooms, etc. that will be communicated to all once finalized and those will be forthcoming in the next two weeks.

Again, thank you for your understanding and flexibility during this time.

Best,
Melissa
