Hi Alejandra,
I made some edits based on Jana's and others' suggestions. Thanks again.
There is no official connection between LOGOS and RAISE. I suppose we
simply share some overlap in research interests among people and topics.
I'm not aware of any other initiative at UCR that might be related. FWIW,
it is not an institute or any officially recognized entity by any means(*).
So far, LOGOS has just been an informal initiative to connect individuals
who are or might be interested in modeling and improving online discourse
-- whatever that means :) In practice, it's been a kind of reading
group/seminar series.
Now this is also my chance to call for others to propose different/new
directions, as I believe the seminar series has run its course. I'd be even
more eager to have someone else take on coordinating activities -- I'm not
by any means in charge/directing anything, I've just tried to keep it from
dying as I care too much :)
Cheers,
Emiliano
(*)The only thing we sought (and received) from UCR was some small funding
through a CoR grant (~$3,000), which helped us purchase equipment for
hybrid meetings and support the organization of an event.
